I've played a lot of similar strategy games, and this one is definitely the best implementation I've seen. The upgrades and skill tree are well done and allow the player to cater their strengths to a specific play style (mine was quick expansion and then defense).

My only complaint is that it was fairly easy and over too quickly. The difficulty ramps up well at first and requires you to get some extra experience and skills to win, but the last 5 opponents all went down on my first try. Some of the skills are really interesting, but I was only level 10 when I beat the king so I didn't get to try any of them out against a tough opponent. It would be better if there were higher difficulty levels that give your opponents more skills to make them tougher.

haha

i got to 8747 (with a laptop mouse) so i guess that's not bad

but i'm from fort collins and we do this all the time, so i probly shoulda done better

wonderfully simple

this is great, it's so simple but there's a lot of skill involved and it's fun to get better and better at it

it was kinda frustrating and unsatisfying at first but i knew once i got the hang of it it would be fun and it definitely is

i feel like this is the kind of game I would love on my phone or something in my pocket so when i need to kill time i could just pull it out and press one button over and over again and just jump stuff

some tips i think might help people: look ahead and jump as early as possible so that you land right after an obstacle or gap so you are ready to jump again quickly (it also helps you get through windows), and use the barrels and stuff to stop yourself from going too fast because it can get even harder if you are

the only thing i'd really like to see in the game is having it tell me my high scores on the screen that pops up when you die

very um... fun

i don't feel like fun is the right word to describe this game, it's interesting, or enchanting, or alluring or something but i guess it's also just fun

anyways yeah the gameplay is really good, i'm the kind of person that likes to just explore levels and make sure i don't miss anything so i like that the game is based around just going everywhere and trying everything

but the best part is definitely just the experience of it, it felt so adventury and other-worldly, it was like i wanted to turn the sound up really loud and just kindof be the fox

so yeah i don't really have any complaints, except that i was disappointed when it ended, i mean it was long enough and everything but i still felt like it ended abruptly, i feel like you should have an afterwards part where you maybe get some extra thing and you can just collect the rest of the mushrooms and stuff, i also wish i could've killed all the darklings, I know i could've but i don't plan far enough ahead, I think after it ends you should gain the ability to like collect the maximum amount of fairies and like press down to use them all and get a short burst of light so that you can kill the rest of the darklings

so yeah really fun game, I don't see why people are complaining about the boss, he's really easy he just goes up and down, of course i had to stop playing and just watch him to figure that out

also that's funny that Mastercin looked for a place to turn off the rain, that's what i thought it was too but then i looked at the menu

great game

wow i was surprised to find out that that was a really fun game

I didn't really expect to like it and I almost quit a few times when I got so frustrated and couldn't beat a level, but i just kept trying because I was confident that i'd beat every level eventually --so yeah there is a lot of luck involved but I think the luck is really what makes it so addicting, like gambling

anyways, long story short, i too was kept up till 4:30 in the morning beating this game, but i got gold on every level and it felt very very satisfying

as far as suggestions though i don't have too many, the only thing i noticed while playing the game is that there are no medals and those are always fun, i agree with adding specific objectives like destroy all circles, otherwise i dunno, i guess some kind of temporary upgrades or powerups would be cool but this game is really great as it is

good game

this game was fun but frustrating i guess it's supposed to be like that but it's partly because some parts of the game were off

things to fix:
-make the physics consistent so that a bridge won't behave differently every time you hit test
-add some kind of rope at some point, i didn't finish the game so maybe you already did
-maybe add some friction between pieces, everything seemed too bouncy
-it makes sense to me to have the pieces be what breaks instead of the joints, maybe not, anyways it felt like there were times that a joint shouldn't have broken and it did
-also it crashed a couple times for me too, luckily your autosave worked great

all in all it's a good game though, i just wish i could beat it :P

pretty cool

it was a really good game except for the powerups

it makes no sense that i should get to the red four shooter at level 9 and then watch it slowly decay to a yellow two shooter at level 21 even while collecting all the shooting powerups that come

i guess it's probably random or whatever so that doesn't always happen but you should fix it so it never does, not having them decay at all and getting upgrades more occasionally would be great

the other powerups were great, except the helper could've been less... useless

the enemies were cool too, i especially liked the spaceships that blew up into four lasers, but i agree that level 11 was too hard, level 24 was really hard too but i probably could've beat it if i didn't have a shitty ass weapon

perfect

this game was awesome, I can't say there's anything really I would want to change about this game

my one little gripe might be that it was a little frustrating that when the sawblade wheels that roll at you happened to fall on you, they fell so fast that they were impossible to dodge, and the jumping was a little wierd for some reason

but otherwise I thought the difficulty was perfect and the checkpoint levels were perfectly spaced and I didn't find it boring at all, the upgrades made for a really good game system, the controls were simple and intuitive even as you added things like duck and roll

alot of people are saying you should add more enemies/ upgrades but i dunno, i think it might make it too complicated and i like where it is now, I do like the idea someone had of adding one extra skill point to upgrade one of the upgrade types to a super level after you've filled all the others up, kindof like choosing your specialty

I think it would be cool to add modes like a survival mode and possibly even a platformer type story mode, but definitely keep the game the way it is now too

not bad

i think you came up with something really brilliant but you kindof hit an unfortunate grey area where the game itself it interesting enough to get noticed but not enough to really make the splash it could've because you didn't put enough into it. I'm sure you can make the sequel really good but it doesn't have as much potential as the original did because the idea isn't as fresh anymore

I didn't really have a problem with the graphics though I guess you could've tuned them up a little. Mostly I think you should've made the position of the camera based on the position of the mouse, it would be a lot smoother and more natural, also the fact that there's an edge to the playing area (that grey background) looks crappy and was a bad aesthetic choice. it'd be much better just to make a limit where the camera can't go any further so it feels like you're actually seeing the scene and not just a picture through a hole in a big metal wall, mouse controls would also work well with that since you can't move the mouse past the edge of the screen anyways.

awesome game

very chill and smooth, and the movement of the panda is the perfect speed so that it's not so fast that it ruins the mood and not so slow that it's frustrating.

my favorite thing to do was miss one of the bottom stars and then run out of energy right over it and fall on it, i like how it's like he's entering water when he hits it

One thing you could maybe change about it is that I dunno how random the placement of the stars is but you should make sure it's not impossible without boost cause i'm pretty sure the level i died on (after it goes back down to 7 stars) was impossible, i might just be a sore loser though haha

Coaly responds:

They can be impossible without a boost, so that the game ends eventually... adds a bit of chance into it.
